Where will my website be hosted?
All of my sites are hosted in the UK
How large is the hosting?
The website hosting account is unlimited (within reason). I have yet to handle a site that would not fit.
How many email accounts can I have?
If you are using the mail system that comes with the hosting then you have unlimited accounts. Each one has a 10GB mailbox. There are also forwarders available. I will show you how to set this area up and manage it.
What happens if I lose my site?
If your website goes offline for any reason I will take action to try to get it back for you. If for any reason I cannot restore the site, I will use the last available backup to get you back online.
How long does it take to build a site?
This depends on several factors. The most critical is you. I have built and got a website online within 24hrs (A small one), some clients can get stuck in review cycles. The worse case is six months. I can generally work quite quickly once you have my attention. If you are clear on what you want, I can get you online quite quickly. For off the shelf sites such as those for the NACCC and Home-Start within 24hrs.
What level of access will I have?
It is important to me that once I have built the site you are set up to be an editor, and have full access privileges to your account. Not everyone wants this, but it is available if you want it. Both Admin access to the website and Admin access to your hosting control panel.
Can you edit my site for me?
My preference is to build sites, and help you to administer and enhance your website by adding more content in and things like news. I do not regularly edit many sites. However if you are looking for this service, get in touch and we can discuss it.
I am a newbie and don't understand much about this stuff
I work with all sorts of people, in only a very few cases are they or were they involved with the IT industry and websites. Most people do not know where to begin. Don’t worry about it, I will walk you through what you need to know as we develop the site.
How much is annual hosting?
I provide hosting accounts with unlimited email boxes at £60 per year. I renew these automatically provided you still need them. So you are assured of continuity. If I am looking after your domain name this is renewed automatically annually at £10 per year for anything ending in .uk. If you have a .com, .org or .net it is £13 per annum.
Is maintenance included?
I will check your website infrastructure from time to time throughout the year. I am responsible for making sure that the infrastructure is working, and getting the site online if something fails. I do not generally edit content unless requested to do so.
I do not make any additional charges for maintenance, unless there is something specific you are looking for.
